Law Merit Badge Seminar
About the Seminar
The Law Merit Badge program partners the Courts with Scouting America to provide Scouts with the Law Merit Badge. Following the requirements of the Law Merit Badge pamphlet, judges and staff address the difference between civil and criminal laws, origin of law, development of the jury system, the Justinian Code, the Magna Carta, and famous trials in history. Actual judges preside over a mock trial with Scouts serving as members of the jury to see and understand the process of the courts. A guided tour of the Kendall County Coroner's Office, Courthouse and a presentation of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, round out the day.
